A dog was found left in a parked car in sweltering 28C heat with its owner nowhere to be seen. Dogs Trust has warned owners about the fatal risks associated of leaving a dog in a car after an owner locked their pup inside a Mini Cooper in record breaking heat.
The dog was found "distressed" and "panting" as a group of people surrounded the car and attempted to rescue the pup. It had been left inside a parked car in Oakham, Rutland, on Wednesday which was the hottest day of the year so far.
Nigel Pearson, a volunteer with Leicestershire and Rutland 4x4, said the sunroof was "open" and there was a "little gap but the dog was clearly distressed".
