A trainee vet resuscitated a stray dog who was having a heart attack on the side of the street. Lucas Martin found the dog collapsed on the floor outside his house in Piranhas, central west Brazil.
The 19-year-old leapt into action when he saw the door wasn't breathing and he performed emergency cardiorespiratory massage in a bid to save the dog's life.
Quick thinking Lucas turned the dog over on to his back and carried out the CPR for five minutes. As he continued it look like the dog might not survive but miraculously Lucas and the bystanders were shocked and amazed to see the dog take a breath and as if nothing had happened jump to his feet.
