Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.A Blantyre woman has been left in searing pain after falling and breaking both her wrists.Lauraine Lawrie, of Nordic Crescent, stumbled and fell on what she claims to be a “bumpy mess” of a pavement on Thursday afternoon, while on her way to visit her double amputee sister in nearby Auchinraith Terrace.The 54-year-old was left in agony and taken to University Hospital Hairmyres, where she was put in splints from her wrists to her elbows.A few days later she attended University Hospital Wishaw, where surgeons inserted plates in each wrist.Now Lauraine, her husband Collin and extended family, a lot of whom require to use wheelchairs or scooters to get.
