Devastated dairy farmer says he'll have to fork out £70,000 after yobs torch his barn

A Bolton dairy farmer has spoken of his devastation after a fire ripped through one of his barns. Firefighters were called to Adises Farm, in Rosemary Lane, Over Hulton, on Sunday afternoon.

According to witnesses, four youths ran away from one of the barns after starting a fire. The fire service confirmed that around 100 tonnes of hay were stacked tightly into the barn, which is rented out by the Manchester Road-based dairy farm and ice creamery Milk Maids.

Farmer Michael Partington had only left the barn an hour earlier after feeding cows in the shed next door. He said: "I got a phone call from the guy who lives up there at 1.45pm.
