The criminal complaint against the white officer shows how he kept kneeling on the black man’s neck for several minutes after he fell unconscious and said “you’re talking fine” when he begged for air.
The death has sparked protests across the US. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Chauvin was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter although more serious charges could be brought.
