Dennis Waterman, following his death aged 74 on May 8, 2022.Famous for his role as Terry McCann in Minder, Dennis played a number of unforgettable characters throughout his career, beginning with his fame as a child actor in TV series Just William.From there he never left our TV screens, taking on some of the most iconic roles in British TV history - but how many can you remember?To pay tribute to the late, great Dennis Waterman, Daily Star takes a look back at some of Dennis Waterman's roles away from his Minder, New Tricks and The Sweeney fame.Dennis' acting talents were evident from a young age, after the star was given a place with The Royal Shakespeare Company following a role with the Children's Film Foundation.Aged 13 years old, he landed his first leading role as the titular character in William in the BBC's adaptation of Just William.

Though only six episodes long, the role showcased the start of a brilliant career of the man who would become one of the biggest stars of TV in the decades to follow.Some of the greatest actors in history have appeared in the Hammer House films - including Dennis Waterman in 1970's Scars Of Dracula.Starring alongside On Her Majesty's Secret Service star Jenny Hanley, horror legend Christopher Lee and Dr Who star Patrick Troughton, the film became famous as the first to show the groundbreaking scene of Dracula scaling the castle walls.
