Delays expected as roadworks begin on busy Ayrshire route

Ayrshire road which is to undergo essential maintenance later this month. Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking works on the A76 Howford Bridge.The works will run for more than two months, starting from Monday, September 13 and running until the middle of November.

The road is used by motorists every day, travelling through parts of Ayrshire to Dumfries. An Amey spokesperson said: “The works to upgrade the barrier restraint system and the pedestrian parapet will be undertaken using single lane closures and temporary traffic lights on a 24/7 basis- with delays predicted at less than five minutes.“Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the.
