David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English former professional footballer, the current president of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He retired in May 2013 after a 20-year career, during which he won 19 major trophies.

Manchester United star and England captain was speaking during a video call convened by the Duke of Cambridge who has launched a declaration to create a "mentally healthy culture" in the sport.

It has been signed by governing bodies, leagues and organisations from across UK football.These organisations will form a UK-wide mental health implementation group next season, working towards a collective "game plan" to prioritise the psychological wellbeing of everyone involved with football.

And David says it's only now, looking back, that getting sent off during a World Cup match against Argentina in 1998 - when he was just 23 - was the most difficult time in his footballing career.
