Danniella Westbrook’s face has changed dramatically over the years, with the former EastEnders star having gone through tough times and lots of plastic surgery. She had played Sam Mitchell in the BBC soap but now looks very different to the spritely face of Grant and Phil Mitchell’s sister. She first arrived in Albert Square in the 90s, an instant hit full of presence and energy earning her rapport with fans of the show. But after years in and out of the East End, her life off-screen caught up with her.Now she has drawn the attention of the country after it has been revealed that she requires NHS surgery worth in the region of £500,000.She told the Sun: "Plastic surgeons wanted £500,000 to change my face, so I thought I was never going to get it done.
It was only because I went into intensive care before Christmas."I couldn't breathe because I had a cold. There was a build-up of fluid and after I fell asleep I couldn't wake up properly and ended up in ICU."Danniella is currently undergoing a series of reconstructive surgeries, two of which have been completed so far.She underwent the first of these in May 2021, saying at the time: “Stage one of the four-part journey of reconstructive surgery to rebuild my face and finally stop all the hate.”Recently Danniella underwent further surgery that saw her have part of her rib moved to her face. The Sun reports that she has more reconstructive surgery coming in the near future at the end of April and in May 2022.It wasn't just plastic surgery for vanity reasons though, that led to the dramatic change in her appearance.During the 90’s, Danniella’s septum, the partition between the nostrils, completely collapsed as an ongoing result of snorting cocaine.
