Daniel Ricciardo has been told that Lando Norris is "destroying him" as the McLaren driver's position comes under threat. After finishing 13th in Monaco last weekend, Ricciardo is now 37 points adrift of his team-mate, who currently finds himself in seventh place in the 2022 Drivers' Championship.

Following the race in Monte Carlo, former Formula One team principal Eddie Jordan sent a stern warning to the Australian driver.Speaking to Channel 4, via Formula One News, Jordan explained: “He’s letting races flow by, and you very seldom get a chance to claw this back.

I think I’d be watching his career path from now on, because I’m not sure how much further he can go.”Jordan, who ran the team of the same name from 1991 to 2005, then went on to add: “Lando is destroying him, mentally, physically and on the track and when you have that kind of a scenario inside of a team, it gets to you so he needs to shake it up immediately.”Ricciardo is currently contracted with McLaren through to the end of next season, but the team's chief executive Zak Brown has hinted his contract could be terminated before the end of 2023.Brown has been quoted revealing: “I don’t want to get into [the contract] but there are mechanisms in which we’re committed to each other and then there’s mechanisms in which we’re not.Should Daniel Ricciardo remain at McLaren next season?

Let us know in the comments section below.“I’ve spoken with Daniel about it, we’re not getting the results that we both hoped for, but we’re both going to continue to push.“I think he showed at Monza he can win races.
