F1 fan Sam Ryder will sing the national anthem ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.After finishing an impressive second at Eurovision – a huge improvement on the UK’s usual dismal performance – Ryder will perform God Save the Queen in front of 140,000 race-goers on July 3.

It will be a special moment for Ryder, who attended the race as a fan back in the 1990s, rooting for Damon Hill.To promote his appearance at the home of British motorsport, Ryder was interviewed on the starting grid for Silverstone’s social media platforms and was asked which driver he would sing a duet with - and he picked popular Aussie Daniel Ricciardo. However, Ricciardo may face competition from another familiar face to sing with Ryder after racer and Sky Sports F1 pundit Naomi Schiff tweeted: “Omg can I please sing a duet with @SamRyderMusic instead of @danielricciardo.” Ryder was also asked which F1 driver he would most like to go to a music gig with. Who will win the British Grand Prix?
