Dancing on Ice's Torvill and Dean won't be able to skate together on new series

Jayne ­Torvill and Christopher Dean will not be allowed to perform together on the new series of Dancing on Ice.It will be the first time in their 45-year career that the former Olympic champions and best friends have not been able to take to the ice as a duo.Strict Covid safety measures on the hit ITV show will also see the pair separated by a screen on the judging panel.Scots Dancing on Ice pro-skater Mark ­Hanretty said it will be ­difficult for the famous pair to be separated.

He said: “Not being able to go near each other because of Covid will be a real hardship.“They are best friends and have been skating together for 45 years and now they can’t even touch each other nevermind dance as a pair.“Show producers have jumped through hoops.
