A dad accused of murdering his teenager daughter threw her across a room when she was a baby because she would not stop crying, a court heard.
Jurors at the Old Bailey were told Maisie Newell was just four weeks old when she sustained a fractured skull and brain injuries during the attack in August 2000.
She was left with life-changing injuries and died at home with her adoptive parents in June 2014 when she was 13. Dean Smith, 45, from Watford, Herts, is on trial for his daughter's murder.
In February this year, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter but has denied murdering the 13-year-old at the address he shared with her mum Amanda Lee.
