Derek Sr grew concerned when he noticed his son would keep his shirt on while at the swimming pool, which he hadn’t done before.
Deciding to support his son in a unique way, Derek Sr underwent 30 hours of tattoo work to have a replica birthmark added to his own chest.
Derek Sr told Global News: "He was always proud of his birthmark and then I saw he started to kind of cover it up. "I think he was maybe a little bit self-conscious about it.
