Dad dies after being gored by 84st bull in front of horrified family at festival

dad-of-two has tragically died after he was viciously attacked by a bull in front of his family at a Spanish festival. Oscar Rodriguez Calleja, 50, was struck in the groin by the 84st animal as his wife and one of his daughters watched on in horror.Harrowing footage of the incident showed the father being lifted in the air by the bull's horns before he was thrown back onto the ground on Sunday ( May 1).

Emergency services rushed to the scene and took him to hospital, while his family were treated after suffering from panic attacks in the small town of La Seca.

The rogue bull, named Rodillero, charged at the dad after it was let loose on the street in front of shocked revellers as part of the Fiesta del Verdejo event.Oscar, who was described locally as a greyhound breeder, was positioned in front of a barrier as others stood behind for their own safety.He sadly died after being rushed to nearby Medina del Campo Hospital for an emergency operation.The event was immediately suspended by La Seca Town Hall, which issued a statement after it emerged the injured man had lost his fight for life.It confirmed: “A man who was gored at the start of the festivities has died.“The fatal outcome occurred after he was evacuated to Medina del Campo Hospital with a doctor and nurse who were part of the medical team covering the event.“We would like to express our most sincere condolences to his family and friends.”The festival where the tragedy occurred is an annual event known as the Fiesta del Verdejo which was first held in 2008.Oscar had travelled from his home in the nearby municipality of Nava del Rey to take part in the festivities with his family.In January a man was fatally gored by a charging heifer at a festival in Puerto.
