For the third Premier League game in a row Cristiano Ronaldo turned on his heels at the final whistle and headed straight for the tunnel.
This time he was met by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who directed the Portuguese towards the Manchester United away end. Ronaldo wandered halfway towards the outstanding United fans and thanked them for their support, but he could go no further.
He looked utterly dejected. This isn't to paint Ronaldo as somebody who doesn't appreciate the support, or someone who has no time for his fellow professionals at full-time.
Instead, United have signed an insatiable winner who can hear the clock ticking on his storied career, and are currently failing to give him the platform to write the perfect ending.
