Covid-19 travel restrictions after being forced to rescue a stranded family with young children. The Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team, who cover the Scottish Borders and Lothians area, were tasked to help the stricken travellers on Saturday night.
Seven members of their team were forced to trek through snow and ice to reach the stranded vehicle which had slipped off the untreated road and become stuck on the verge.
They discovered that the occupants had travelled through several local authorities during their ‘scenic drive in the remote countryside.
The brave rescue team said that while PPE was in place, their team was forced to mix in close proximity with the family and police officers - potentially exposing them to the virus.
