Two women rescued from Ben Lomond in blizzard charged with breaching covid rules

coronavirus regulations after having to be rescued from Ben Lomond in Stirlingshire yesterday afternoon. A large-scale operation was launched in blizzard conditions at around 2pm following reports of two lost walkers near the summit.

Cops and mountain rescue teams, including a helicopter, raced to the scene. Lomond Mountain Rescue said: “We were called to Ben Lomond at 2:40pm to assist two walkers near the summit who required the Teams help.”“All were safely returned to the foot of the mountain by 6:30pm.” A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to assist Mountain Rescue partners on Ben Lomond at around 2pm on Saturday, 23 January, 2021 after two female walkers requested assistance to descend the hill in deteriorating.
