Covid threat to Premiership rugby final after SEVEN Wasps test positive ahead of next week's Twickenham showpiece

English rugby’s showpiece occasion has been thrown into doubt after an outbreak of Coronavirus at Premiership finalists Wasps.

Seven members of the playing department, including four players, have tested positive and must isolate until 24 hours before next week’s Twickenham clash with Exeter.

The quartet of players are from the Wasps Academy and share a house and it is understood there is no immediate threat to the first team squad.

But given the way Covid spread through Sale Sharks earlier this month, the Coventry-based club are on high alert and, in what they describe as a “precautionary measure”, have cancelled training for the rest of the week.
