BEVERLEY Callard is finally off her crutches and has been gifted a new puppy by her husband following her agonising hip surgery.

The Coronation Street star, 63, who has played Liz McDonald on the soap for 31 years, has been struggling to walk following a nightmare surgery ordeal.

But it seems Beverley is truly on the road to recovery as she revealed to fans she no longer has to be supported while walking.

Sharing a snap of her crutches resting against the wall on Twitter, she wrote: "It’s official! As of today, I’m crutchless!!!!!
