Coronavirus: Second UK death feared as man in 80s dies and hospital ward isolated

An elderly male hospital patient in his 80s is believed to have become the second UK-based victim to have died from the new coronavirus.

The unnamed patient, who had underlying health conditions, is thought have died from COVID-19 while being treated at Milton Keynes University Hospital, Buckinghamshire.

Hospital staff who nursed the patient have gone into isolation and a detailed tracing exercise is now being undertaken find anyone who had been in contact with him.

Today services at Milton Keynes Hospital are running as normal. Doctors await official test results to confirm it was a case of COVID-19, according to a local newspaper.
