The coronavirus hospital death toll in England and Wales has increased by 196 on Boxing Day. Another 161 deaths were reported in England, and 35 in Wales, in the 24 hours to Saturday, December 26.
Northern Ireland will not be updating daily deaths and cases figures between December 24 to 28. Elsewhere, Scotland will not be providing deaths figures between Christmas and December 28, though it will still update daily case numbers.
London led the daily deaths statistics, with 44 people dying in the last 24 hours in the capital's hospitals. That was followed by 35 deaths in the North East and Yorkshire, and 32 in the Midlands.
