A 'major incident' has been declared in a UK city as local authorities continue to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. The outbreak of the deadly disease has led to 'unprecedented demand for multi-agency activity, which is beyond the scope of business-as usual operations' in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

In Stoke-on-Trent, nine people tested positive for coronavirus as of Tuesday, and 76 in Staffordshire. However, StokeonTrentLive reports that the numbers could be even higher due to limited testing.
