Coronation Street viewers notice a coronavirus time warp as April Fool's Day arrives again

April Fools' Day was on Wednesday - but it came later for the residents of Coronation Street because of coronavirus. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Corrie fans are being rationed to three half hour episodes of the soap each week instead of the usual six to keep our visits to Weatherfield running for longer.

This meant that April Fools' scenes that should have been shown on Wednesday were screened on Friday night instead. Tonight's episode showed joker Tim Metcalfe pretending that he'd sliced his thumb off.
