Coronation Street's Shobna Gulati revealed she was feeling "dreadful" with the impact of long Covid. The former soap star, 54, played Sunita Alahan on the cobbles for more than a decade from 2001 until 2013.

Last year, the Corrie actress battled a secondary infection of pneumonia after she was struck down with coronavirus. Still suffering with the impact more than a year later, Shobna warned her fans to take long Covid seriously in a tweet on Monday.

She wrote to her 56.7k following: "Long covid is no joke on another round of anti biotics - I’ve cancelled Monday.. "I feel dreadful the wheeze across my chest is real. #StaySafe." Many fans rushed to share their sympathy with the TV personality on Twitter.
