Coronation Street actors Maureen Lipman and David Neilson have returned to filming, even though other over-70s are still banned from set.
Cast and crew classed as vulnerable or aged over 70 are generally not currently filming scenes on the ITV soap. Upon its return to filming amid the pandemic, Corrie carried out individual risk assessments and staggered the return of its cast.
But David, 71, returned to set yesterday as Roy cropper while Maureen, 74, has also returned. But 84-year-old Bill Roache, who plays Ken Barlow, hasn't yet been able to step back onto Weatherfield's cobbles.
Speaking to Andi Peters on Lorraine yesterday, he said: "The over 70s haven't been called yet. "I've been told I might be called after August.
