Coronation Street's Johnny Connor star sends fans wild as he unveils real accent

dailystar.co.ukLoose Women fans could not believe how different to his Coronation Street character Richard Hawley sounded while he was a special guest on the show.Richard, who plays Johnny Connor, recently left the cobbles after being killed off in a dramatic storyline so was on Loose Women to discuss his next projects.
But when the 66-year-old started to talk all viewers could think about was his southern accent. Richard lives in Brighton, not up north, and worked on Coronation Street for the past six years, enduring a very long commute, he said.
One viewer posted on Twitter: “Wait, is Richard Hawley southern?”, while another added: “His voice sounds different” and “I wasn’t expecting that!”Another chimed in with: “Shame that Johnny Connor’s left Corrie.
