CORONATION Street legend Sue Cleaver has signed a new big-money deal to keep her on the Cobbles. The Eileen Grimshaw actess has been on the soap for 23 years and took a short break to star in the latest series of I'm A Celebrity.
It comes after Corrie retained three more of its major stars by offering bumper deals to stary for another year on the ITV soap.
A source told The Sun: "Sue didn't hesitate to sign onto the show again - she loves playing Eileen and the cast and crew are like family to her. "Bosses were so pleased - she's a soap legend and they're really happy she returned to the cobbles after I'm A Celebrity. "The show wouldn't be the same without her." It's been an eventful few months for her character - with no doubt there will plenty more drama in store this year. Eileen remained on screen when Sue was away camping in the I'm A Celeb jungle as Corrie films scenes around six to eight weeks in advance of broadcast.
