KEN Barlow returned to Coronation Street last night - and fans were blown away by his appearance. The original cobbles star - who is played by 89-year-old actor Bill Roache in the ITV soap - has been off for months after contracting covid earlier this year.

However he returned last night looking in fine health for a sad new storyline. Ken was summoned by his old friend Norris Cole back to luxury retirement home Still Waters.

Sadly before he had a chance to see Norris, the busybody suffered a stroke and died, leaving his pals devastated. He, Rita Tanner and Mary Taylor met up to share their grief and remember their dear friend.
