He feared history may be repeating itself after losing his ex-wife Sinead to cancer. Last week, Daisy broke up with Daniel after he got drunk and turned up late to her doctors' appointment.
She told him she needed someone strong and dependable. In Monday's episode, Adam Barlow intervened and showed Daisy an article Daniel wrote about falling in love with her - moving her to tears.
