Personal Independence Payment (PIP) after data released by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) showed that while the number of claimants across the UK had fallen, there was a rise of 2.7 per cent in Scotland.
By the end of October 2020, a total of 279,067 Scots were claiming PIP - an increase of 12,957 since the beginning of April.
PIP is a benefit for people who need help with daily living tasks or getting around outside the home as a result of a long-term illness, disability or mental health condition.
