For the latest Oldham news sign up to the MyOldham newsletter here An “honest, and caring man of morals and integrity” worked with vulnerable adults and children for more than 30 years before historic sexual abuse allegations came to light, a court has heard.
Damien Riley, of Ewood, Oldham, is on trial at the Lowry Theatre in Salford, accused of taking part in at least 16 incidents of inappropriate sexual activity against four young boys in the Oldham area in the 1980s, when Mr Riley was a teenager.
The 55-year-old denies all the charges, and Simon Blakebrough, defending, has urged the jury to find his “exemplary” client not-guilty on all charges - claiming that the four men worked together to concoct a series of lies about the events.
