Tourists are refusing to be intimidated by the 'go home' graffiti that's been springing up in Barcelona. To the anger of locals, protests aiming to raise awareness for over-tourism appear to be falling on deaf ears.
Some have even been laughing at the unconventional wall art and posing for pictures beside it. And when asked what they make of the graffiti, plenty of visitors hit back and said residents should be grateful they are helping to contribute towards the economy of the Spanish city.
In a video posted by Parrot Tours on TikTok, a tourist admitted: "I get the message but it's still funny you know. I will still come." He even pulled out his camera roll and showed all the snaps he'd jokingly taken of the graffiti.
While some thought that locals' feelings were "valid", others believe the irate comments should be directed elsewhere. One pointed out: "It's good for the economy." Another said: "I'm not offended.
