Amy Burnside is distraught after her family's cat, Milly, disappeared from home near Kingsway in Rochdale on Wednesday, May 2.

The 27-year-old pet owner launched a frantic search, posting pictures of Milly on social media and asking local vets if they had seen him.

But Amy's investigations turned up nothing - until fellow residents told her they had heard talk of a 'black and white cat', matching Milly's description, a few doors down from Amy's home.
