A castle on Manchester’s doorstep is offering afternoon tea within its grounds and allowing guests to enjoy champagne and cake in a setting filled with history.
Peckforton Castle is a hotel and wedding venue in the heart of Cheshire and although its heritage can only be traced back to the 19th century, it is a replica of a medieval fortress, with plenty of history of its own.
The building was completed in 1851 by John Tollemache who bought up 36,000 acres of countryside for the project, which included the villages of Peckforton and Beeston.
