A Land Rover ploughed into the side of a pub just hours before it was due to reopen for the first time since March as England's coronavirus lockdown was relaxed.
The crash left a gaping hole in a wall at the Swan Inn in Little Chart, Ashford, Kent, and the landlord, Ray Perkins, was still hoping to welcome back hundreds of thirsty punters.
Police were called to the pub just before 2.30am on Saturday when a car slammed into the wall, leaving Mr Perkins, 67, devastated after spending months preparing for the reopening alongside his wife Ann.
Three 17-year-olds inside the car suffered minor injuries. One was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and drink driving.
