Aston Villa have had a bid accepted by Bournemouth for Callum Wilson. However, the England striker’s personal preference of Newcastle could derail the transfer plans of Dean Smith before the new Premier League season gets underway next week.
The 28-year-old looks certain to leave the Cherries following their relegation to the Championship last season and the subsequent departure of Eddie Howe, but his destination remains uncertain.
Wilson scored eight top flight goals last season to bring his overall tally in the league to 41 in 126 outings.Football Insider have reported that although Villa have had a bid of over £20m accepted by Bournemouth, Wilson would prefer a move to Newcastle.
