A busy road in Salford remains closed this morning after a large soap spillage. Fire crews were called to the A6 Broad Street near Salford Crescent Station after a truck shed its load on Monday afternoon (September 12).
The road was closed to all inbound traffic to 'facilitate recovery' following the incident. In an update this morning, local traffic pages reported that the A6 southbound onto Salford Crescent Lane is now open, but the A5063 Albion Way southbound from Broad Street to Liverpool Street is still closed. Pictures from the scene on Monday showed a cordon in place around the spillage with two fire engines and police in attendance.
Bus operating service Go Northwest warned of one hour long delays on surrounding routes. Salford City Council tweeted: "Updated 5.30pm For safety reasons Albion Way junction is closed between Liverpool Street and Broad Street with a diversion in place.
