The Express, the UK should prepare for a "wintry blast" in the first week of March as well as several storms. Senior meteorologist at British Weather Services Jim Dale has predicted that this time of year could bring in "some of the snowiest" conditions.

He said: "Very often, March can deliver big winds and it can deliver short-lived snow events. And historically it has done that."The first half of March is sometimes on paper some of the snowiest stuff we've seen in any form of Winter.

It comes in later rather than sooner, so this is entirely possible."The upcoming weather storms would be named Storm Gladys and Storm Hermann.Storms are only named when they have the potential to cause an amber or red storm warning.Currently, nine flood warnings remain in place by the Met Office as the cold weather from Iceland hits the UK.WX Charts reckon that the south of England, the Midlands and Wales will be the most afflicted regions, with huge spikes in rainfall also coming on Tuesday. The River Severn seems particularly affected with several surrounding areas facing the flood warnings.Writing about the upcoming downpours, the Met Office said: "Rain for most Monday; early gales in the far northwest and wintry showers following here.

Mostly dry with sunshine thereafter, but rain in the far south and west at times."For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here..
