Officials announced the shock decision at lunchtime today saying police would be mobilised to make sure all businesses in the raucous street closed their doors until September 15 They will not be able to re-open until September 15, although the regional government has made it clear it reserves the right to extend the date past September.
Mr Negueruela went public with the closure threat after British youngsters were filmed jumping on a parked car in Punta Ballena in the early hours of Friday morning.
