A prison officer's romance with an inmate was revealed when they were caught embracing on a sofa, a court heard. Gemma Brean worked at HMP Prescoed when she started exchanging messages with a man serving five years for Class A drug offences.
Brean, 36, exchanged messages and emails over a six week period with prisoner Stuart Mark Davies who she described as her "boyfriend".
Cardiff Crown Court heard they were caught out when they met up while he was on home leave in October 2019. Prosecuting, Steven Donoghue, said Davies was released for the weekend on October 28 to 31, reports Wales Online.
