Ricketts, from Birmingham, West Mids., moved to the US in 2017 to live with his lover Chasity Hill after they met while playing video games on Xbox Live.
He has allegedly confessed to stuffing Mr Goldin's body into a large drum and entombing it in concrete before burying it in a woodland behind the victim's garden in the state of Alabama.
Despite Mr Goldin's family calls for Ricketts to be executed if guilty, a prosecutor has said he has no plans to seek the death penalty.
