A woman has died on a busy high street in a town in Trafford. Officers were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman on Ashley Road in Altrincham at around 9.15pm last night (Thursday).
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene. Tragically, the woman - aged in her 30s - died despite the best efforts of emergency services.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A number of bars, shops and restaurants were within the police cordon. Several police vehicles were stationed on the scene late last night.
