The collision happened on Huddersfield Road at its junction with Brushes Road in Stalybridge on Saturday night. The boy was riding a Yamaha off-road bike when he suffered serious injuries, a spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed today (Monday).
Police, firefighters, paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the scene. Pictures showed the rear end of a Honda Civic had been badly damaged in the crash with the motorbike laying in the road nearby.
