A teenage boy who woke from a coma after smelling his favourite deodorant has now grown curly hair for the first time. Kacper Krauze, 14, spent 25 minutes underwater after going into shock while playing in the freezing River Eden in February.

He was in a coma for three weeks before the smell of Lynx brought him around. Now, a few months on, the youngster has gone curly - despite having straight hair for all his life.

Wioletta Krause, 43, told the MailOnline : "What's unusual is his hair is curly now. Before the accident it was always straight and now it's very curly which is strange, but it's still nice. "He's still taking his tablets but the doctors have said he will be able to come off all of this medication in the future." She feared
