Boxing star Lee McGregor has rushed home to Scotland after his dad hit by a lorry in Edinburgh. The fighting champion flew across the Atlantic to be with his critically ill father after hearing about the accident while training in Las Vegas.
His father, Stuart, is now recovering from life-threatening injuries after being knocked down in the Gorgie area, Edinburgh News reports.
The 24-year-old planned on fighting to keep his continental title in Manchester on Saturday against Armenian Narek Abgaryan, but has since pulled out. "I've had a really tough couple of weeks to be honest and my head has been all over the place," McGregor explained. "I've done some damage to my hand but I've tried to just train through the injury.
