Boris Johnson has vowed for “all pupils in all year groups” in England to return to school in the autumn term despite the possibility of more local coronavirus lockdowns.
A spokesman for the UK Prime Minister said the Tory leader hoped all children would be back in the classroom in September.He said today: “You’ve heard from the Prime Minister on many occasions his absolute commitment to getting children back into school in September and that’s vital for their education and their development.“We are planing for all pupils in all year groups to be in school full-time from the beginning of the autumn term.”But there could be local lockdown measures which could stop some schools from reopening – although this would be done on a case-by-case.
