Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

mirror.co.ukBoris Johnson has been criticised by his own medical chief for blaming high numbers of care home deaths on providers. England's Chief Medical Officer Prof Chris Whitty told MPs today he had "zero enthusiasm" for pointing the finger at care homes.
He admitted the UK was among countries which had not handled the care homes coronavirus crisis well. And he added that he would "shy away" from suggesting that official Government advice given to providers was ideal.
The Prime Minister sparked anger earlier this month for blaming deaths on care home chiefs not "following procedures". Almost 20,000 people have died from coronavirus in care homes since the start of the pandemic in March.
