Boris Johnson gave his strongest ever condemnation of Donald Trump today, saying he was “completely wrong” to encourage people to storm the Capitol.

The Prime Minister frequently defended President Trump during his four years in the White House - even suggesting he should be given the Nobel Peace Prize.

While he condemned the images of chaos as they emerged on Wednesday night, the Prime Minister stopped short of blaming the President for it.

But today he blasted the US President over his incendiary rhetoric. “So far as he encouraged people to storm the capital and so far as the president consistently has cast doubt on the outcome of a free and fair election I believe that is completely wrong,” Mr Johnson told a Downing Street press
