Rochdale. Bomb disposal teams were called to a property on Hollin Lane in Middleton on Wednesday (25 November) as officers executed a warrant.
A 35-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of using words or behaviour or display of written material intended to stir up racial hatred, contrary to Section 18 Public Order Act.He remains in custody and is being quizzed by detectives.
A long stretch of Hollin Lane was closed by police throughout Wednesday morning, as officers carried out their enquiries.While emergency services were pictured parked in a local pub's car park, the property is not forming part of the investigation.The incident prompted a large police response, with a tactical aid unit also called to the scene.
